Professional string music for all occasions
The Contempo Quartet is made up of four classically trained, highly skilled musicians based in Adelaide, South Australia. We play for events of all types, with a versatile assortment of music which, if required, will include arrangements of any of your personal favorites. This extensive repertoire has been played at various venues, from the Farmers' Market to a tango convention, and we would love to provide the setting for your special occasion.

Why Choose Contempo Quartet?
We are an experienced group, with diverse expertise across all four of our members. Among us are the concertmaster of the Adelaide Youth Orchestra, two winners of the Jane Peters violin medallion, a winner of the Jean Adelaide Madeline Dent Prize, winners of the graded AMEB prizes and a string ensemble leader. As an ensemble, we have all won the string section of ABODA for the past 4 years, and our combined instrumental experience totals 43 years.
But why a string quartet, and why us?
Well, string quartets are inherently versatile, catering for both quiet background music, and virtuosic showpieces. They do not need the extra room that amplification or additional musicians would require, and they can play genres (effectively) from pop to classical. Our string quartet is energetic and flexible, keen to cater for your needs and provide people with the joy of our music. Our repertoire is extensive, and if it does not include your personal favorites, we are happy to create an arrangement for the occasion.
